Charlie Johnson has almost 15 years worth of experience in the digital sector and has been part of the Digital Element team since 2011. Her hard work and dedication have established her as a specialist in IP geolocation technology, positioning her not only as an influential player in the industry, but also as an inspirational role model for young women determined to excel in their chosen sector. Charlie’s expert knowledge of how IP geolocation technology can be adopted in Advertising, Cybersecurity, and Digital Rights Management and circumvention, and has seen her travel the globe seeking the latest developments to stay on top of her game. She is a regular at major industry events such as Mobile World Congress, OTT World, and IBC and an active contributor at the Streaming Video Alliance. Charlie’s insights have also been featured in a number of publications, including CSI Magazine, TV Technology Europe and Marketing Tech. Prior to joining Digital Element, Charlie served as Head of Sales EMEA for RealNetworks in the consumer division, focusing on the publishing and media player business. Despite her hectic work schedule, Charlie always finds time to spend with her horse and the pair regularly enter competitions around the UK. As a natural leader, Charlie has empowered company-wide developments throughout her time in the digital industry. In 2010, while at RealNetworks, Charlie was one of the first people in Europe to move to a programmatic strategy – a leap of faith that was ultimately rolled-out across the entire business. At Digital Element, Charlie has led the development of the company’s product offerings, writing the strategy to provide Digital Rights Management solutions and answering clients’ questions around circumvention This has empowered Digital Element’s growth in the ad fraud prevention sector, a hugely valuable part of the business.
